HBL's Representative Office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Himalayan Bank Limited has commenced operation of its Representative Office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from February 10, 2015. Mr. Manoj Bahadur Shrestha, Chairman of the Bank inaugurated the Representative Office of the Bank at Medan Pasar, Kuala Lumpur amidst a separate function.

Addressing the inaugural function HBL's Chairman Mr. Shrestha said that establishment of a Rep Office would help to boost trade between two countries and it can play a catalytic role in promoting investment areas like tourism, trade, financial services, joint ventures, franchises besides the regular remittance services.

Similarly CEO of HBL Mr. Ashoke SJB Rana also stated that the establishment of the Rep office would be a milestone to enhance the business and social relationship between two countries.

The Bank has been facilitating convenient remittance service to the Nepalese workers residing in various states/cities of Malaysia through its online remittance system Himalremit since 2003. The Bank has partnership arrangement with fourteen different Malaysian local remittance companies to facilitate remittance service to Nepalese workers. Establishment of the Rep office will increase the trust on Bank's remittance service amongst the workers. The Rep office will promote Bank and Himalremit Brand among Nepalese workers in Malaysia. Further the Rep office will educate the Nepalese workers for using legal channels of money transfer for transferring their earnings to their family members in the home country. The Bank believes that establishment of the Rep Office will help to promote legitimate remittance transaction as well as strengthen the bilateral business and social relationship between Malaysia and Nepal.

Nepalese Ambassador to Malaysia H.E. Dr. Niranjan Man Singh Basnyat, Nepalese Businessmen in Malaysia, Executives of partner remittance companies, other dignitaries, BOD members and Senior Executives of the Bank were also present in the inaugural function.
